Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect on my first visit?
The focus of your first visit will be assessment and diagnosis, plus your first treatment.
At Agility Physiotherapy & Sports Injury, we are a movement based clinic, so the diagnostic tool we use is the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and McKenzie Diagnosis and Treatment Method (MDT).
After your assessment and diagnosis, an individualized treatment plan and rehabilitation exercises will be prescribed.
Be sure to wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing (including sports bra or tank top for women) to your first visit. If you normally wear corrective lenses or hearing aids, be sure to have them in place since communication between you and your physical therapist is important.
Bring information about any medications you are currently taking as well as any reports on your injury of condition that might be provided by your doctor.
Do you accept health insurance
Agility Physiotherapy & Sports Injury can bill directly to Desjardins Financial Security, Great West Life, Industrial Alliance, Standard Life and Sun Life Financial. You will only have to pay your portion in the clinic and we will bill the rest directly to your insurance company with no paperwork for you!
Johnson Insurance allows us to submit the claim on your behalf but they require that you pay the full amount up front.
If the clinic does not bill directly to your insurance company or if you do not have insurance, payment must be made on delivery of services. Most major credit cards are accepted.
Do you accept WSIB or MVA patients?
We are not set up to handle Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) or Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims at this time.
Do I need a referral to go to Agility Physiotherapy & Sports Injury?
Although most of our patients are referred by their physicians, you can come to our clinic without a referral. However, be advised that many insurance companies require a physician referral.
Do you accept OHIP (ontario health insurance plan)?
Agility Physiotherapy & Sports injury is not a publicly- funded clinic. For OHIP clinics, please visit http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/physio/pub_clinics.aspx.
How many treatments will I need?
There is no “one size fits all” treatment guide when it comes to physiotherapy. At Agility Physiotherapy & Sports Injury, our goal is to reduce your pain, increase your functionality, and get you able to return to your active life as quickly as possible.
